      Greetings St. James!

Greetings St. James,

February is a month of mixed emotions for me.  It is marked with the celebration of Shrove Tuesday where the community along with the members of St. James share fellowship with the eating of pancakes followed immediately by Ash Wednesday signifying the start of Lent, a very somber time period of the year.

I have always viewed Lent as a time for purposeful, deep reflection on my personal walk with Christ.  Questioning whether or not I am living up to the potential that God has intended for me. Questioning if I am truly listening, hearing God's intentions and not my own.  Questioning if I am willing to make the sacrifice?  I would like to invite the parishioners of St. James to ask themselves whether St. James is living up to the potential that God has intended for St. James?

Please reflect on the mission statement for St. James as you think about the future of St. James.  What role do you see yourself playing in the development and implementation of Christ's work in the coming year.

Our mission at St. James' Episcopal Church is to proclaim the Kingdom of God.
We will strive for a loving, Christ-centered community which will accept all people.
We hope to be a Christian witness in the Fergus Falls community by caring for
a person's mind, body and soul.
Our help in all we endeavor is from our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
